Limited Capacity seats available

Learn how a few key strategies appear in many of the top IB Extended Essays and how these strategies relate to the EE Rubric. These strategies are applicable to a variety of tasks that rely on investigative analysis.  This workshop takes you beyond the basics and shows you how students can go deeper in their understanding of investigative discourse. This small set of strategies will help your students push to the next band level. These strategies can be taught in Academic Writing classes designed to help students understand the process of writing top-tier Extended Essays or other Investigative Essays. 1) The session will kick off with a brief overview of the strategies the EE rubric and how these strategies link to the criteria. 2) It will then use the EE rubric and IB sample essays to show how these strategies have often been implemented in many of the top EE exemplars (25 minutes). 3) The final section will look at how these strategies could be taught in the classroom, with time for questions (10-minute Q&A).
